Trauma care was started at a time when the general public was shying away from attending road traffic victims due to fear of legal complications that followed.
DiscoverIn 2003, against the background of one of the worst earthquakes in history, that struck Gujarat in 2001, TRACK ventured into the important area of training local volunteers in Disaster Management.
Various disasters, manmade and natural alike strike the world incessantly. Underdeveloped countries like India, without the support systems for countering and managing such disasters, suffer a lot in human life loss and property loss. Thousands of lives could be saved if proper training is given to volunteers to mitigate the effects of the calamities.
Trauma Care Kozhikode TRACK, having completed its 25 years of service and having been able to extend its support to tens of thousands of citizens in need, supported by selfless volunteers from different walks of life, from medical professionals, police officers and social leaders to common man, it is indeed my honour to have had this opportunity to be part of this unparalleled organization as one of its founding members and having had the privilege to lead a team of enthusiastic and socially committed individuals driven by passion and their sense of social responsibility As the society and its needs grow and the changing times demanding continuous revision of strategies and technology, I urge improved participation from all people – professionals, entrepreneurs, industrialists, young professionals, veteran specialists, students etc., in the services provided by TRACK, for us now and for a better tomorrow.
Trauma Care Kozhikode (TRACK) pioneered educating “First Respondents” to shift accident victims without losing time, and without causing further injury, to Hospitals through its volunteer training camps.
